wonder in transformation

icicles before the rock

a week ago I was up here in these mountains
when light snow just kept coming down,
I returned to the piedmont for a week of work
and I thought the snow would have forgotten its life
and danced down the mountain i search of the sea,

instead, much of the snow on the high mountains remains,
and some that has morphed back into liquid
slowly crept down the ropes
and morphed back into solid
where it dripped in front of vertical rock by the road,

icicles, who stopped me in our way down from the high gap,
ad I worked to hold them with pictures
as water, again, creates transformational wonder.
