a cloud of hormone
out the window
a cloud of pine pollen
moves as if a living thing,
the wind a matchmaker for its seeking,
as if the pine wants to impregnate all,
that cloud is like what puberty brings,
hormones seek to swallow adolescents
and within them the adolescent must move,
the hormones shape how they see the world,
making them feel strangers in their own land.
