a moment's inattention. . .

left is right

driving on the left side of the roads scares me,
a moment of inattention,
and then a life of experience:
over 100,000 miles of driving on the right,
can manifest, and kill us,
I keep repeating—“Left. . . left. . . keep left,”

after driving hundreds of kilometers yesterday,
I feel a sense of accomplishment,

I work to stay anxious enough, though,
to keep my attention on the prize of continuity.
