George Fox must have known the aspen.

Quaker Aspens

aspens quake in even a light wind,
such as here today in Jackson Hole, Wyoming,
where a family of 5 aspens rise 50 feet into the sun
between two stillwater ponds,

when the wind moves through them,
thousands of light green leaves
shimmer and shake as if possessed,
the frenzy passes and the leaves grow still,

Friends were called Quakers
for, when they felt that of God move in them,
the power literally shook them,

the aspens remind me that all around us is spirit,
and we should be ready for it to express itself.
