emotional hijacking?
emotional hijacking--often a negative term
to describe being taken over by strong feelings,
as if otherwise our calm rational self
is captain of the ship,
keeping us away from dangerous shoals of feeling,
during the day I can forget the dark currents within me
that are just as true and real
as my walking in beauty,
I think and feel
that we can be hijacked just as often by the positive emotions,
but it is not really a "hijack,
it is accepting that the calm positive self is not in control,
but is more like the rudder in a tempestuous sea
that can help us move forward positively
but still has to allow the buffeting of course
that is part of where we are and of who we are,
I have to vent the sobbing tear
bor it is just as true as the laugh of joy,
emotions do not hijack us: they are us.
