how full the glass?
should we be thrilled by how well people do?
or judgmental about what they can’t yet get to?
it’s a quandary we live as teachers:
what helps the glass to fill?
what can we do to slow the emptying?
I believe in students,
in their inherent drive to be their best,
and I know that each is a work in progress,
and that construction can be messy,
I love it when the way opens,
and they find the way into their power.
